I used to have an Archos 404 series mp3 player that had a huge screen but little battery life to me(6-7 hours?). I've had it for about 2 and a half years now and it is crapping out. I have a white line across my screen that doesn't go away except for when its turned off. The other bad thing is that you have to pay for certain audio and video codecs to work! I never really had that problem but that is a disadvantage to most people how have an Archos. I don't know if its the files system that makes the music not run well now or what. Alot of the time now, music won't play even when the volume is all the way up.
I would reccomend not buying one. It's your choice though whether you think it's good or not. I'm thinking about getting an 8GB flash Zune which sounds pretty good. Don't bother with Apple products. They will piss you off.
