Hi Guys,

Just like to share some upgrades for my Rig. I replaced my MSi GTX 580 Twin Frozr ll/OC Edition with Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme plus ll on my GTX 580 SLI. However, i did it differently, I did not use the washer and heatsinks that comes with the Arctic cooler. I mainly just replaced the cooler, keeping the stock heatsink. I feel the heatsink is better as its whole piece across the pcb. Im using a Corsair 600T White Case and this case really make my graphics cards hot.

Before:
Idle top: 46c
Idle Bottom: 42c
Load top: 98c (Can you imagine? Twin Frozr ll? I cant seem to feel the frozr..lol)
Load Bottom: 90c

Now with Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme plus ll:
Idle top: 38c
Idle bottom: 38c
Load top: 69c
Load bottom: 72c (Yea the bottom card is slightly higher now cos i took a fan to blow at the top card.)

That cooler is almost silent even at 100% output. My GTX580 came with it stock.

Even at 100% you can't even hear the fans at all.

Dang. 38C idle? Whats your ambient temps? Seems to me like the IHS is your problem with still high load temps... But they do look pretty darn good to me!

Ambient is about 24c, I live in Singapore. I switch on air conditioning.

Ambient is about 30c, I live in Singapore. When I switch on air conditioning, the idle drop to 33-31.

Sorry 33-31 is when i just start up my com, too fast to take into consideration. lol. With air conditioning on 24c, Idle is 38.

Xtreme plus is gtx 480 and some older Gpu if I remember correctly, however you can order vr004 brackets to mould for 500 series. Xtreme plus ll come with the bracket for 500 series.
But wait, xtreme 3 is coming out, it's for GTX 680! 19/04/12 will be available!

Yup, if you can still find it, just get xtreme plus. However, i think you should get plus ll as you might not know when you will upgrade your gpus?

Yep, Arctic Cooling makes some damn fine coolers and I'm so glad that they can do it with silence in mind.
