It is time for me to say goodbye to X370 Taichi I had since 2017, I am giving my old system 5950X/X370 Taichi/RTX 2080 to my brother after upgrading to 7950X/X670E Steel Legend/4080 Founder's edition. It was a good run of nearly 6 years and many cpu upgrades (1700X - 2700 - 3900 - 5950X), I hope my AM5 can have a similar longevity.
The 7950X3D just launched yesterday by the way .. it's supposed to be quite a bit faster than the 7950X.

It didn't launch yesterday, it was announced and it should have a small uplift in like 20 games like the 5800X3D over the 5800X. In regular tasks and productivity though the 5800X was actually faster than 5800X3D.
Actually AMD announced the "X3D" versions of the 7000 series are coming later at the previous CES event when they announced the 7000 series. Yesterday was the actual "Launch" where the NDA lifted and everyone can talk about the new chips now. Later comes the "Retail Availability" phase.

Funny enough I had the same issue, you want to know how I fixed it? I traded my cousin dimms, 2x8gb because it wouldn't boot with my 2x16gb 3200mhz ram, it booted with 1 dimm at 2133, I restarted into bios and upped the voltage to 1.4v ddr4 profile to auto 3200mhz, not xmp 3200mhz, and it booted into windows, turned off the computer and inserted the second dimm, boom. it boots with 2x8gb at 3200mhz, I tried 3400mhz and it did run but didn't do any testing to see if it is stable, but definitely 3200mhz works and is stable, I fear to do anymore stability testing because I might tear my own head off if it stops working

Uneventful update to 7.3 for the 4000 cards increased compatibility. Memory XMP profile was reset though afterwards.

Hi, i have problem with my x370 taichi with 7.30 bios, after system shutdown and instant power on, post "7a" code. (if go with system restart, post without error) Manual say this code is "Problem related to memory".Figured out remove memory or remove bios battery for 5 mins fix problem and boot properly, tested with aegis 3200mhz and cheap micron 2133mhz. Even downgrade bios to 5.60. Instaled chipsed driver from asrock website. Also from windows all seems ok. Cpu tested atlon 200ge, 3100, 3600. Any advices :( ?

Did you tune the memory timings yourself on any of these ram kits? If you did then you possibly could of ended up on unstable timings.

No, trying 1 slot dimm with stock timings, i can't even go to bios after shutdown to edit timings values.

Edit.
All parts work with other motherboard, so maybe voltages problem, but i looked on capacitors and seems be good.

What exactly are the power limits on this board and the x470 version when PBO is set to motherboard?

I may be wrong here but as far as I'm aware ASRock never stated an "Exact" power limit for either motherboard. I could try to look up the AM4 power guide in google later today and try to find what the community has discovered for it though later today.

Yeah I figured more than 300W. It's killing me that when PBO is set to "motherboard" that it's not using that limit to keep the cores boosted during bench runs. I'm considering locking in manual all-core on this poor 5800x.

Just for fun currently running x470 bios 3.46 crossflash although get PCIe Gen4 for SSD and GPU, but version 3.46 experience these problems: -

Lan stuck on 10Mbps
BT can't off in bios
Game graphics jerking. Although get >100 fps but jerking every few seconds on quick movement, Rainbow Extraction 1440p Win11 23.2.2 and 23.2.1

Galax HOF 3600MT/s ram able to run 1800Mhz 1usmus FAST, but must make sure go into AMD/CBS to manually up VDDG to 1100 = 1.1mV and VPPD in this case is cldo_vddp to 1050 = 1.05mV

edit
oooopppssss mistaken, Lan cable loose caused 10Mbps also in bios 3.50 also have PCIe Gen4, Lan returned to 1000Mbps after unplug and replug.

Just to make something clear for you: Even if you cross-flash a bios from an X470 board it is not going to give you PCI-Express 4.0 support on this motherboard (X370 Taichi). The hardware in this X370 board is always going to run at PCIE-3.0 only no matter what bios you put on the system.

Yes, version x470 taichi's 3.43, 3.46, 3.50_agesa_1.0.0.3 have Gen4, but these old bioses only support up to Zen2 3000 series, I don't think can boot on Zen3 5000 series. Tonight I will try version 3.6 agesa 1.0.0.3 ABB hopefully that it is still 1.0.0.3 retains the Gen4.

ver 3.5 is good where XMP will load fully,
{1 of 4} i.e. secondary timing fully captured and auto fill 100%.
Inside the AMD/CBS,
{2 of 4} The VDDG 【which is for VDDG IOD & CCD】 is auto to 0.95v just enough to run most XMP snail speed no problem no crash, but if overclock timing then must manual up the VDDG to 1.1v.
{3 of 4} The VDDP 【which is cldo_vddp】auto to 0.9v just about enough for XMP snail speed, if overclock timing a lot will need to up 1.0v or 1.05v
{4 of 4} VDDR_SOC is auto to 1.025v again just enough for XMP snail speed, if overclock timing will need to up 1.12v
see zentiming screen capture.

for x370 taichi, may be bios version 5.6 have pcie gen4. No need to crossflash using x470 taichi bios.

x370 PCIe Gen4 [email protected] [email protected] AS_SSD score4133 read4223MB/s write4130MB/s

Version 3.9 agesa 1.0.0.4 and above Gen4 is removed.
