I recently purchased an asrock z77 extreme4 m motherboard for my i5 2500k and everything went well, almost. The computer will not boot with dual channel ram setup. I can boot with one stick or with two sticks not in dual channel.

I updated the bios and still nothing.

Any ideas or should I RMA it?

Have you checked each and every RAM slot by running a single stick by itself in it? It would be best to do that for each stick (i.e. test stick A in slots 1,2,3, and 4; then stick B in slots 1,2,3, and 4). That way you may be able to isolate if it's a motherboard RAM slot problem or a problem with one of the sticks of RAM.

Have checked all of the above, thanks for the suggestion. It didn't seem to help -still would only work in single channel- so I am having Amazon send me another out.

After reading a bit more it seems that I am not the only one who has had this issue with this motherboard. Hopefully a new one will set me up right!

Just wanted to say that it does seem to have been the motherboard. Amazon sent me another out (wooot 1 day shipping) and I just got it all together. Dual channel is working great!

Now its just time to find the Samsung ram in stock somewhere!
