every thing loads after I start to play the screen freezes right after the movie.

these are my specs
Core 2 duo processor
1gb VGA
1gb DDR2 Ram

I can hear the audio but the visual freezes.

What exactly is 1GB VGA?

Which C2D CPU?

What OS?

Oh boy. Need more info. Fill out System specs under "user CP" and report back. It's more than likely be a driver issue.

what is your operating system?
did you install the driver of your 1GB VGA?
(im assuming the 1GB vga is at least 9400GT which is good enough for assassins creed)

I have a similar issue and it's caused by Xfire's In-game Overlay.

The game's intro will go blank, while the audio continues... Keep pressing Escape on your keyboard to skip the intro (a few seconds of it plays before it allows you to skip), and the Main Menu will load perfectly fine.

With detailed system specs it will be easier for other members to help you.

The problem you are having is most likely either driver-related or Xfire related (as InsaneMatt stated)
