Hey all, I know my rig aint the best so I am trying to get the best out of it. Is there anyway I can make this mobo a better overclocker? Voltmodding? It is running a socket 939 3400+ sempron, which I have heard isn't the best. Anyway, any help would be awesome

Well, I just took my heatsink off and I realized i'm not running a crappy sempron, i'm running an athlon. What the funny thing is, the board and proc was given to me by my grandpa because it wouldn't reconize his 4200+, so he went out and bought a newer one. Yeah I am running stock clocks, but when that ninja hs gets in I'm slapping a 110cfm 120mm on it and I'm going to overclock to its full potential! Anyone got any ideas on how to make this board better?

Jacob

EDIT: Ohh yeah, I have a question to ask also. My friend (clearly not a computer nerd) said that his Dell proc was better than mine because it was running at 2.6 ghz, and that quote "his runs just as fast and good as my computer." I had to agree with him and laugh later on about it, but how does intel do that? get a crappy chip at 2.6ghz? I am confused!

umm yeah if you have decent cooling you can volt mod the heck out of that thing just the via chipset sucks for the most part so you cant get to high on it but i had mine to 290 stable fsb so it has some potential just not alot, whats the multi on that cpu im not versed in the older guys

edit: look in the volt mod section under motherboards im pretty sure i pyut some links in there and some of my own pictures but im not to sure take a look

Alright man, i'll look. As far as I know the stock multi on it is 11. Yeah, as far as cooling I think I have it covered, I plan on improving my cooling though with a BT

This board won't push you too far, as said above the VIA chipset isn't a great overclocker at all.

I could do high FSBs but had to lower ram frequency under 400 to achieve that, since my ram is DDR433 that was pain. I could run my ram around DDR440 but with low fsbs.

Seems like it's one or another on this board.. i wouldn't expect more then a 500mhz OC, but since your Multi is 11x and mine is 10x you might be able to push it a little bit farther since you won't need to raise the FSB that high with 11x to achieve a decent clock.

Anyway i'm curious to see how it will turn out, feel free to add me to MSN.
