ASUS EeePC 1000 or Aspire One?

848 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Acreo Aeneas
I'm about to purchase a netbook and I've narrowed down the best choices to the EeePC 1000 or Acer Aspire one (10.1"). They both look and sound great based on reviews, should I just flip a coin? Or is there any info that can help me decide?

Thanks.

Best bet is to find a shop that has demo units out on the shelves so you can see and feel for yourself. If that's not posssible however, then i've no idea.

I've got the 8.9" AAO, but on reading reviews i'd pick the new eee over the new AAO.
Thanks. You're right though, I don't think I'll go wrong with either but I am definitely leaning toward the Eee PC 1000.
Is wireless N (2.4 GHz band) and bluetooth important/must-have for you?

If either or both are something you crave for in a netbook, then consider the 1000HE. Otherwise, just pick the one you like the most.

Those aren't necessities for me, but they would definitely be convenient features.

Looks like the 1000 is the winner

I personally would go with the Asus because I've had horrible luck with Acer and poor build quality on their laptops.

I'd get whatever is cheaper. Netbooks are basically the same, except maybe screen size and hard drive space (due to flash versus solid state). The Linux versions will be cheaper yet if you don't need Windows, which, if you're getting a netbook just for browsing, is probably your best bet.

If the prices are about the same, go with whatever you feel is best. I personally like the Aspire One a little more.
