Asus GTX 780 DirectCU II OC SLI on Asus Maximus Gene VI - will it work?

I currently have one GTX 780 DIrectCU II OC on my Gene VI and can see the bottom slot. However it looks like if I add another card they will be touching/another card might not fit.. Anyone running SLI with this card on this mobo without issue? Thanks.

I think it WILL fit but there will be no breathing space and temps on your top card are going to be crazy high! The only real practical solution is watercooling them and Asus Direct CU waterblocks are expensive and hard to come by.

I have 2 x GTX 670 Direct CU II's in SLI and even with a gap, my top card got too hot without a side panel intake fan.

Heres mine so you can see the gap, yours will literally have no gap atall.

Yep. If you're going to run multi-gpus that close on air you need reference blower cards. With open shroud cards like the DC2 your top card will suffocate.
Yeah i have enough problems with cooling mine, i dread to think what it would be like without a gap! I'm not buying graphics cards that dump hot air into the case again, reference and waterblocks are the way forward!
You all pretty much confirmed what I was thinking. Guess I'll just have to watercool them both if I add another 780.
