I asked him to paste this info here in Cities XL.

Was trying to convince me that he had a 7 core CPU.

At least, we got that figured out.

And, that's an Intel CPU, my friend, not an Asus.
so your more geek than me. dude idc if if its an elephant. the specs clearly state 8cpus call it a tomato. i dont care.
do some more research on asustech ind.. the specs also clearly state that
my bad, i just caught what the issue is... i never said asus was the cpu itself its the damn computer brand. im sorry if we got mixed up there.
8 cpu's is a typo. It's 4 cores, with hyperthreading on, it will have 2 threads per core, for 8 threads.

=)

edit: weird typo is weird.
edit: directX typo.
Its only a Quad core. It says 8 CPU's due to hyper threading technology. 4 cores 8 threads.
It's 4 cores, 2 threads per core, not 8 physical CPU's.
that was the dx diag scan. now the system hardware reads out 8 seperate cpus as well... i might be wrong but when i got this i was stunned by the hardware reports. i appreciate you clearing that up

It might say that, but the hardware scanner is giving you false info. If you were to scan an old single core computer with hyper threading enabled, It would say that it has 2 cores, when in fact it only has one.

hey, Im sorry chief- we was in a chatbox so i was talking about the computer being an asus and abbreviated assus computer with asus cpu. i wasnt trying to insult your intelligence brother- just relaying what the diagnosis was saying. Ive never encountered a computer that breaks down a quadcore or dual core the way this one did so i took it as is. it didnt dawn on me till i got here and posted with my eyes shut that we wasnt even on the same page. in retrospect you could of worked with me to figure out what it was i was lookin at and explained where i was wrong. im an easy dude- wasnt trying to jive you or make you wrong, take care now and good checkin up.
I wasn't trying to prove I was smarter man. It was very confusing in that little and very bugged chat box. That's why I asked you to come here and post about it.
