What parts are you carrying over? If you have a DDR2 memory kit, then it would be good. If you're starting over, best to look at DDR3 motherboards.
i have one of those newish 45nm am2+ 5000+'s, im going to use that with the onboard video. if i need a better video card i have a 3870x2 in my closet i can use. all i need is some better ram and psu
Since when did they have a 45nm AM2+ 5000+ cpu?
Show me proof.

Never thought they still make those Athlon dualies today.

Its an AM2, AM2+ and AM3, so it should work. I don't see why it shouldn't.

Edit: According to the list, I don't see it.

Its best to contact the ASUS support rep and ask.

Good luck!

from what i've seen it can play crysis with that onboard super impressive, and also SF4
good board. if you can, then go DDR3, but otherwise it's a good board.
if i went ddr3 i would need a new chip.
i also picked up a XIGMATEK HDT-S963 with the ASUS M4A785-M
errm whats the diffrence between Asus M4A785TD-M-EVO and Asus M4A785TD-V-EVO? if i were to get Phenom II X4 955 with either one of those would the mobo be good? and will that be able to use ddr3?

WHAT THE H*LL IS IT DOING IN YOUR CLOSET!!!!!

I just got Asus M4A785TD-V-EVO yesterday, has ddr3, am3 and i love it. so far overclock like a dream, i only have put up the fsb to 220 from 200 but i feel there is still lots of room to push. at least 250. It also has a HD4200 onboard which can handle CSS on max settings at 1080p.

mirco mtx Asus M4A785TD-M-EVO

atx Asus M4A785TD-V-EVO
I just grabbed it for my grandpas build. Its pretty solid, the driver disk works real well. The BIOS is real nice for the price too, its about as good as the MSI 790FX-GD70's. Supports core unlocking, but my GPA's semp won't unlock.

Ah ok, very understandable then. That sucks. I need a new PSU aswell. all these power hungry PC's now days, sigh, gotta love them though.
