I have a problem with my R9 270X

When I turn on the computer for the first time in the morning, all icons are three times the normal size, and windows toolbar has a weird size. but when I reboot everything goes back to normal.
So, this only happens when I turn the computer on after a period of time off.

I already uninstalled and re-installed the drivers and the catalyst control center, no dice.

I am running 3 monitors in eyefinity at a resolution of 5928x1080 using 2 DVI and and HDMI port
The monitors are all the same AOC 23' 1080p
Windows 8.1 Pro
MSI Z87 Gaming Motherboard
Intel i7 4770K
16gb of ram

Any ideas?

Thank you!

It's the Taskbar, not "Windows toolbar" (knowing this will help avoid future confusion with people who might not know what you're talking about).

Anyway, so are you saying that your resolution is really low on a cold boot, like perhaps 640 x 480?

Where did I say that the resolution is low?

"I am running 3 monitors in eyefinity at a resolution of 5928x1080"

Thank you for correcting me by the way!

You said the icons are like 3 times larger and the Taskbar has a weird size (larger?), so that told me that the resolution was way too low on a cold boot.

I know it was extremely weird, everything else was doing just fine, it appeared like only the icons, taskbar and a handful of non full screen programs were affected.

just as if there were two resolutions at the same time. Anyway, plugging the middle screen as a DVI-D fixed the problem.

For the record, they are all native dvi to dvi and hdmi to hdmi cables, I'm not using any active adapters or display port.

Thank you all

Wow. That's weird. At least it works now with this change.

To be honest when I saw it happen before I was thinking it wasn't displaying the resolution correctly even though it said it was in the display settings. I also didn't have to restart...the machine could just launch a 3D app and it would start in the right resolution and the desktop would be OK once you exited it as well, but restarting fixed it too.

It was strange...but just one many strange things that can happen with multiple GPUs. Though it is continually getting better. Even more strange is how swapping the outputs around fixes so many things. It is getting to be my first thing I check when troubleshooting display errors.
