Ey guys,

yesterday i received my Asus rampage II extreme and my i7 920

I just installed them and i encountered a problem
!

I have 3 DIMS of 2gb corsair dominator triple channel, wich i want to run all of them in my new motherboard.

I have 6 memory slots: 3 of them are blue and 3 of them are white.

Asus manual explained me if i wanted to run triple channel with 3 dims i have to put them in the 3 blue slots.

Thats what i did , but windows and my bios shows me i only have 4gb

I tested all my dims seperatly and i figured out none of them is faulty..

beside this the problem only shows up when i put it in the first blue or white slot.

so if i put 2 in the blue, and 1 in the white slot, it just shows 6gb.

Anny solutions?

Hope you guys can help me out

Thanks in advance!

I'd say that if you bought 6Gb and are getting 6Gb (despite not using the slots ASUS suggests), you're golden?

I have the same board and memory as you do, and I don't recall having any issues. As you say you have already tested your RAM, what about the board? Do you have other RAM to try out?

Just to clarify.
If you put your Corsair ram in Slots 3-6 it will show up as 6gb in everything but not use the triple channel.
If you put in a stick in slots 1-2, it will not show up even in CPU-Z.

If you put your OCZ ram in Slots 3-6 it will show up as 6gb in everything but not use the triple channel.
If you put in a stick in slots 1-2, it will not use it but will show up in CPU-Z.

Check those statements, because I was a little confused reading it.

It's an old thread but wanted to ask here help for same kind of problem. My computer recognizes sometimes but rarely all 6 gigs but usually 4 gigs of RAM. Post screen says sometimes 6 gig, sometimes 4 gigs. Also bios shows randomly 6 or 4. I have swapped ram modules but nothing helps. I have latest bios and I have tried different bios settings but that doesnt help either. My computer was even in service where they didnt find the problem but said it works now. But it doesnt. I checked out if there are any bended pins but none found. So anybody has something for this problem?

hi,there.i registered here only so i could share my fix to this problem with others.

i had same problem like Nlclock.rampage II extreme,i7 920,2x2gb silicon power and 1x2gb geil.(A0 and A1 dimms not working).

several times i checked cpu slot for bent pins and i could not se anything....today i decided to check it under magnifying glass.i noticed that 1 pin is slightly out of line...it was the first pin in top corner closest to first ram dimm.i gently line it with other pins with tiny needle and put cpu and cooler back.started computer and there it was 6gb

to resume,i'm now using 3x2gb in triple channel(2x2gb silicon power 1800mhz 1,65v cl9 and 1x2gb geil 1333mhz 1,5v cl7)

sorry for my bad english
i hope that this information is going to help somebody with this problem.
