maybe try the update in safe mode? or disable all the services and boot apps in msconfig and update after a clean reboot? if that still doesn't work you'll have to use ez flash or afudos

Ive tried using that program too, and I didnt get it to work after a couple tries and then I just gave up. I tried to read stuff on Asus's website and I wasnt able to follow what they said, so I just stopped trying to get a beta version for my board.

Any luck on this? I got the same errors and am using whatever BIOS ships with the board. PCProbe II now won't read two of my fans, I scared myself pretty badly when I hear WOOOT WOOOT WOOTT!! alarm going off, thinking myhouse is about to blow up. My fans are fine, PCprobe doesn't seem them now for some reason.....

Your problem is actually related to your x-fi soundcard. It is a known issue that the asus update program won't work with x-fi soundcards installed. So disable all the creative services, do a clean boot and then try it. Obviously that is a lot more work than just using the EZ flash or AFUDOS.

Just download it from there website and save it to your hd. Then just select load bios from file and browse for the file you just downloaded. It will flash itself from there.
