Yo guys, I have an ASUS Xonar Essence STX and its an amazing card. Sounds better than my old Prelude to me

However, just a quick question about the bitrates I can use:

This card goes up to 192Khz on playback and recording, I have it set to 192Khz on the ASUS Panel but I know like all of my music in ALAC (Itunes) is at 44.1Khz.

Will this make a difference in quality at all? I can't notice any difference but I am just wondering if there is an Optimum setting at all?

I don't see a BitMatched option either, but then again that didn't improve anything with my X-Fi prelude.

I will say again, nothing is wrong with my sound, its AMAZING through both headphones and speakers. This is just a question.

Cheers

You music will come out at 44.1kHz.

Try recording some stuff and playing it if you want 192kHz. You'll find that mostly all CDs are about 44.1kHz so even lossless music rarely goes above 44.1kHz.

Yeah I noticed that.

So its not degrading anything with it set to 192Khz then?
