ok this is DRIVING ME NUTS, I play Crysis 1,2 and 3. Ultra settings NOT ONE DAMN problem. Now here we go, playing rift i get a SWEET 10 FPS when sitting in the middle of Sanctum with nothing going on. So here goes my system http://valid.canardpc.com/2706199 Ive replaced CPU OcD to what you see, im running an h80i with cpu temp about 20c at all time, sometimes it gets to 40 but thats REALLY pushing it. So I would love some advice. I dont mind upgrading the GPU if thats the case but I highly doubt it. HEre is the actual GPU http://www.amazon.com/XFX-Radeon-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-FX795ATDFC/dp/B00713RT62/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1361757467&sr=1-1&keywords=xfx+7950 PLEASE help im going to blow up my computer very soon!

Use a monitoring or logging software when your play Rifts while at Sanctum to find your bottleneck.

We need to identify whether it is a CPU or GPU bottleneck.

A GPU bottleneck is likely if you have driver issues, what drivers are you running?

If that game doesn't run very well on multiple threads, it could be a possible CPU bottleneck. What's your CPU load while in Sanctum? I don't care about the overall load, I am more concerned with the "average" load on each core.

ok little update, i have tried just using one monitor even though second one was just sitting there and them boom, same thing. No matter what i do the fps is SO low, I tried it with my other pc, 6970 Ati same settings and smaller cpu and i get 10 more fps. What is the problem here, it also has less memory then mine does. No files or nothing edited for rift.

ok SOOO i changed the game to run on core 1 and bang immediate 90 FPS, now...i need to figure out why this is doing this

in that thread i posted there was the option to set core affinity to either 0 or 1 core to solve this issue.

even changing the Rift.cfg from MainThreadCPU = 3 to MainThreadCPU = 0 keeps your CPU from running on 1 core and unleashes it to all cores.

yeah that wasnt the case, i changed it to core 1 and literally YOU WATCHED it jump up, thru the roof. The game cannot run on all cores, only one at atime, when its set to default it picks it on the fly which core it want to run on. There is a multiple amouint of threads on the rift forums about this. I think the problem with the AMD overdrive is the fact that in the Bios Setting you can change it to Automatic of finding cores, and when you do that for some reason it only Overclocks the first 2 and then the rest is at 1/4 which is like that power saving mode even though I have this off. Could it hurt the CPU if i keep it at 6 cores and run all of them at 4.5?

thats AMD overdrive not rift....thats what im saying to you, is something is wrong with my internal system to where its not OCing all of the cores

i personally didn't watch anything jump through any roofs.
why are you talking about AMD overdrive. i thought you were overclocking through the bios. automatic finding of cores? what?

if you want a steady overclock for all 8 cores on your cpu turn off any and all power saving features.
check here and read this to understand what i'm talking about. even though it's for bulldozer it's relevant to your motherboard and cpu.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1140459/bulldozer-overclocking-guide-performance-scaling-charts-max-ocs-ln2-results-coming/0_80

setting the core affinity to '0' makes Rift use all available cores; instead of just one when the value is set to anything other than '0'.
at least this is what i understood from that thread.

Point blank "MainThreadCPU =" has no bearing at all on how or even if the game uses multiple cores on your CPU. It determines where the major load of the CPU processing will go. Setting it to 0 might enhance performance on some systems, but any user who does so had better download FRAPs and benchmark their frame rates in CPU locked areas (Meridian for example) in order to determine whether there is a real performance boost or if they're getting a placebo effect.
if the game supports multiple cores, set it to zero.

right; lemme clear this up. The game ONLY runs on 1 core, period. It will start up on one core and remain on one core. Period. Whatever the devs say on that forum has been proven null. I have watched it on the processes and watch it stay on core 3 for about 13 hours of gameplay. Every time i start it, it ends on core 3. I changed it to core 2 and all of the sudden my fps shot up. So that problem is resolved. I did update it thru the bios, im talking about AMD overdrive because thats what i was using to see the activity in windows. thats why i mentioned and showed. When i said you, I meant me in that sentence that was my bad on that part. I can if need be make a video about it, but i sence not to many rift players here that it would be at all helpful.

yeah and on a side note, ive read that guide and alot of other guides for updating it, apparently my mobo uses a lovely mouse type of interface UEFI Rev 3 and alot of those options ARE totally unavailable. There is a thread on here where a guy talks about upping his voltage and its by +/0075, and not a numerical value. So im not the only one that has been having issues with this Rev 3 mobo and this exact cpu.

could you post a cpu-z screeny or validation? i'm thinking about getting an 8320 and would like to compare.
also could you post hwmonitor voltages/temperatures underload/ stress testing?

thanks.
