I'm trying to connect my Hitachi HDD up but I can only find the Power Connector cables, do I NEED the Jump / ATA Connector cables for this HDD? I tried booting up my comp with just the Power Connector cable connected to it but I got the "Boot up with a readable hard drive bla bla" message.

Exact model of HDD - HDT722525DLAT80

"Jump" isn't a connector, it's for changing drive settings with jumpers.

You do need a PATA cable (preferably 40-pin, 80-wire) connected to the ATA connector on the drive and the board/controller to use the drive. It's how data is transfered.

Yes, the ATA cable is the data cable, you will need one in order to use the drive. The jumper setting would probably be best on either CS (Cable Select) or MA (Master).
