Considering it was the competiton for the 7800GTX 512MB, This is a hell'uva a deal!

Cudo's to ATI for trying to make an old product new.

And why does it suck? Do you have anything to back up that claim or are you just being a fanboy? 256MB wont make much of a difference compared to 512 unless youre running above 1600x1200.

The X1800XT 512 performed marginally better in Anand's testing than a 7800GTX. The loss of 256MB and the fact that the 7900GT is a bit better than the 7800GTX, I'd say they'd be dead even. Only problem is that the X1800 uses a really big cooler compared to the 7900.

Depends on which one you buy. Some are at the stock 450MHz and will loose to the X1800 but if you pay a little more for a 550MHz card then ya itll beat the X1800.
