About 150-200% depending on resolution. At really high resolutions I bet a 200% increase. I would try to get that CPU up to 3.6 or 3.8ghz to keep up with that card to take full advantage.

my resolution is 1920x1080, I play pretty much any game on PC, my favourites are Crysis/warhead, mass effect, gta iv, and call of duty 4.

I usually play crysis with no AA, so should I expect 40+ average with no AA, and 30+ average with 2x ?

ok then I guess it is well worth it. Hope later down the line if I buy another for crossfire that things will improve higher through more mature drivers.

I have been comparing both cards under gpu-z and it seems I would get like 3-4x the performance stat wise.

My next games will be Dirt 2, Mass effect 2 and Assassin's Creed II on PC, I sure hope this card holds its own against them.

Though I reckon it may cry at crysis 2 lol

Sounds about right. Maybe more if you get that CPU OC higher.

Going from a HD3850 to a HD4850, there was a 100% increase in performance in a lot of games that I don't remember off the top of my head. Going from a HD4850 to HD5850, there's about another 100% increase in performance. I would estimate your gains to be around 250-300%.

This is assuming you're not CPU bottlenecked.

100+100=250???

It is a good upgrade in general. You should find some numbers here. Also, check out the performance per dollar page.

Congrats!!!

I plan on getting one (maybe 2) as well when the prices come down.

yeah I'm kinda annoyed that my friend got one on launch for like £199, gah!

I just figured screw it, and bought it because it's so hard to find them. Plus this is the first time that I have upgraded my GPU since this PC's building.

I do plan in the future when it really is needed, to buy a C2Q 9550 and a good cooler. So that way bottlenecks if any will be eliminated.

Well, assuming a 100% increase, then it would mean the second result is 200% of the original. If you increase by another 100% from that point, then it would be 200% of the second step. Thus, it is 400% of the original value and around a 300% increase. Key words are gain, increase and percentage of the original.

God, your looking at 200% easy. Crysis you should be able to play at 50FPS like it is nothing.
