ATI Radeon X1300 PRO help!!

Until now I have normally used the video cards installed on my computers when I bought them. However, I just built my first pc and everything was running fine, and somewhat is, until I installed my ATI card.

My System

AMD athlon 64 x2 4400
Biostar TForce4SLI ATX
1GB â€" CORSAIR
ATI Radeon X1300 PRO
430W Thermaltake

The Problem:

After installing the new card, I had an old pci card in while building the computer, the boot screen to the biostar board boots distorted actually completely demolished. Now, I could live with this but the screen flickers when windows first starts up. Is this normal? Should I be worried? Is there a way to fix the flickering and the boot screen?

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

Did you install the most recent drivers? Did you uninstall the old video drivers? Do you encounter problems with other things or just the boot screen?
Yes, i installed the drivers from ATI website. As for uninstalling my old video card i just pulled it out. When i installed it I didn’t have to install any software to get it to run. Is there a way that i can find if that’s causing the problem?

Other then the screen blinking at startup no nothing is wrong. In fact games are amazing and picture is very well. Only boot screen and blinking at start are my issues.
Check to see if there are any BIOS settings for PCI-E vs. PCI for the video card. It may be that the BIOS is trying to talk to a PCI video card not a PCI-E one.

I looked around in the bios to see if i could find anything. Only thing i was able to come accross was a selection that allowed me to select the following:

Video: 1-EGA/VGA 2-CGA40 3-CGA80 4-mono

Other then that i dont know.
