Got a ? for all ya professionals out there. What is ATI stream and Nvidia cuda, or more so will they help me get more points outa folding? I have my sig rig and another pc folding. One has a 4850x2 card and the other an 8800gt. I am running XP 32 on both. Also, does this program help run games faster? Sorry if this is a noob question but i have been reading a little about both and im lost. Thanks for your help.

im pretty sure they only work on the higher end editions of those cards. The "professional editions". You might be able to find a mod for it but i doubt you get much more PPD
CUDA Is what Stanford wrote the Nvidia folding software in.

It works on EVERY card that uses shaders (IE G80 core or newer).

ATI's stream is their version of CUDA, and runs only on ATI 2x00 cards and newer.
Is it something i can get that will improve my PPD or am i on the wrong track with all this? I was thinking it was a program that ran in the background?

It is the way the program (Folding client) is written. It only works on the cards mentioned, like yours. It is is similar to saying that ______ only works on XP and higher.
