It would be a good feature to be able to atach files like documents or pictures with private messages
Any thoughts?

Why? Why waste more server space for people to upload images just to show in Private Messages when they can easily upload the image or document to a file-uploading site and link to it?

I can see the point of having it in a thread, but I don't see the point in having more space used for members in private messages.
Agree x1000

It can be a huge pain. I would love to see this done. Granted you don't need it all the time but when you do, it's annoying.
I think Halifax summed it up pretty good. While this would be a useful feature, it would take up a lot of resources and benefit only the two people in the PM.
If it takes up alot of resources maybe, if the user wants, he can enable his option in his control panel
The point is that it isn't worth it since it only benefits the person you are PM'ing. Posting the file in public can benefit any user of the forum.

Why be so short sighted? Attaching files in a thread usually only benefits the OP (ie posting picture of gpu-z for help etc...). Why shouldn't I be able to send someone a .docx file that is like 10kb via PM? I could see this being beneficial in may ways.

This is a great suggestion in my opinion. I don't think it will take up that much space either as the admins could just put a limit to say max 1MB or what ever in attached files.

Exactly, killer.

When i applied for a position on OCN, i sent in an application. I couldn't send it via PM to mega_option, so i had to upload it to my private server and have him view it from there. Major inconvenience.
I don't understand what the inconvenience is to uploading a file to another source.

I think I've used the OCN attachment feature maybe twice.

If I can upload a file to another area that has a main purpose of hosting files, I will do so in order to not have to have files uploaded onto OCN servers.

If there is a way of uploading it for private use like this, I still don't see the reason to use more space on OCN servers just to host private files and documents when they can easily be uploaded to sites who's main purpose is to host your files.

I'm not saying it's a bad suggestion, I'm just saying it's not a logical suggestion that I believe Admin or Chipp or anybody else on Staff would merit being something that is worth doing.
