Are your speakers plugged in the fourth input from the top?
(or third from the firewire header)

Did you use the drivers provided on the cd? Or did you get them of the internet.

If #1 applies to you, run driver cleaner and try reinstalling some that you get from the internet

Try restarting the pc and see if you get a found new hardware message. It may not have installed properly. Also have you disabled onboard audio?

Look at it in device manager and see if a question mark is there.

Do you have a cheap set of speakers to try in it? Are you absolutely sure they are plugged in properly? They should be working unless the card is bad or both pci slots are bad (Are you pci slots locked at 33. they may change with an overclock and could cause problems)

no pci lock, i am running 333FSB and overclocked using Multi only. if i stick the cable into the Digital input at the top of the soundcard, i get sound from Media player but its all distored and very low. that surely cant be it. i will try sticking the soundcard into another computer to try it out.

also dont know if anything has to do with this, but my HDD just failed more or less, came up explorer.exe caused a error and restarted Explorer.exe, then my visual style changed and then it cut off on me, said on start up primary master failed :S

anyway got a direct linky to the drivers? maybe i got the wrong ones.

I don't know what to say about the hard drive, maybe it is just a corupt widows file.
