This is an update from the linked thread. I'm still getting the audio and video skipping. I did several diagnostics on CPU, RAM, HDD, and Chipset. All the tests came back with no errors. I reformatted and reinstalled windows, and it still does it. Any other ideas as to what is causing this?

Maybe you're video card is messed up? Any reason to suspect it would be? Games or anything related doing anything funny?

Edit: Didn't look at the link. I guess just +1 vote for video card suspicion.

Edit: Replace it with another one temporarily to see if it fixes it (if you have a spare)

Edit: If you DO do that, uninstall the display drivers first so Windows doesn't freak out.

Process of elimination is the only way I know. Make sure all your other hardware works by trying individual parts in another computer/replacing those parts with ones from another computer.

Edit: You should also remove any unnecessary components (extra HDD's, DVD Drives, etc.) just to be certain you don't end up replacing something expensive because of some weird glitch with a peripheral.
