I notice a lot of you guys are using these badboys, will it be a big improvement to go from my HD555s to the ATH M50?

Will my onboard sound card be enough for the ath m50 or will I need to keep my Xonar DX?

I ask this because I just got the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 Speakers and also bought the Xonar DX, but I just realized that I can't always be playing my music through the Promedia as I have an 11 month old golden retriever and we all know loud music is sensitive to any dogs ears.

SO what good would it do me to keep these speakers if I can't use them to their full potential, as much as I love these speakers I love my dog more and I don't want to do anything that will degrade his hearing in the future.

I'm stuck here, I'm going to return the Klipsch for sure, but should I return the Xonar DX as well, if my onboard will be enough to drive the ATH M50s?

so to keep or not to keep the Xonar DX? I am for sure returning the speakers, now the ATH M50 is really up in the air if my HD555s are within the same quality

keep the sound card but return or sell the speakers, you're better off with the sound card even if you cant use speakers.
