So I come home today after being away for 3 days and now my audio doesn't work on my windows vista and every time I try to open control panel explorer.exe encounters some error and needs to restart and I never get to open control panel. Is there a link between these 2 problems? Both of them seemed to happen at the same time but my computer was off before I left for the weekend and everything was working fine. Has anybody ever experienced this before?

try reinstalling your audio drivers and doing a virus scan.

if that dosent work your i/o contorller for your audio port may have taken a dive. happened to my old motherboard. i tried every solution
