auto fan problems with a 260

319 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  kremtok
I was wondering when the auto fan kicks in and ups the fan speed. Mine is stuck at 40% and even when it gets up to 60c it doesnt go any faster. I dont have any artifacts but even at around 55% (set manually) fan speed in crysis I get up to 66c after idling at 42c. Is it possible to create profiles that ups fan speeds at certain temps with evga precision?

That's what I used to do but got lazy :/. btw this thing even at stocks is a beast. But it is GIGANTIC, makes my old 8800 looked small.

well I was able to make hotkeys for fan speeds but not based on certain temps.

I'm not sure why you're having that problem.

I set my fan in Rivatuner 2.22 and it says at 76% solid with my GTX 260

Try Riva v2.22

I have 2.22, I just want it to change automatically based on temps. The hotkeys are good enough.

Fan on the GTX 260 doens't throttle. It's locked at 40% from the factory. I set mine at 70% and leave it there at all times. Much higher than that, and it starts to get very loud.
