Within OSX I am spoiled with Time Machine.

Is there anything like this for backing up on Windows 7, should I use built in Microsoft backup, or is there better more reliable free software out there? I don't want to backup to restore points, I want real files that I can grab in case anything goes wrong with this system and I need to swap out new hardware. The backup drive is a 1TB USB external.

Thanks,

Thanks,
There are tons of automated backups...even free ones. I personally use a paid one called Acronis though just because it awesome. Block level de-duplication plus really nice system imaging.

However, I have also used something free called Cobian Backup that I really liked...been a while since I've used it though.
