Auzentech Prelude Woes

816 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Lumi
So I'm running Windows 7 Beta, 64-bit.

I installed my Prelude, used the disc to install everything, sound works, but alchemy and 5.1 DO NOT.

Uninstalled, sweeped the drivers, got the latest ones from the website.

Same result.

What's a guy to do he has a $180 card that doesn't do what he needs it to?

The error.

Setting my sound settings to 5.1 doesn't produce sound from my two rear speakers.

7.1 produces sound from the two added speakers, but they would be ones "on the side"

Dunno if that helps.

Did you install normal drivers for xp/vista or the win7 beta ones? Don't expect a card to work properly on a beta OS.
I don't believe there are Win7 Beta drivers. I used what was on the site, and there was only one link.

Compatibility mode doesn't help anything, not that I expected it to.
Mate, you are using a Beta OS. Thats probably the reason why this is happening.

Don't expect everything to work on a Beta OS. ESPECIALLY Creative's stuff.
If you can use Creative's drivers:

I think I may try to install Vista on a different drive later to see if it would work.

Do the ASUS Xonars work in 7 without laughing at me?
Try copying the drivers to your local disk and installing them in Compatibility Mode for Vista.

5.1 on Windows 7 had been an issue for me until Creative release new drivers.

Don't expect the Prelude to work for Windows 7 anytime soon
It is creative and it is Auzentech

Yeah, I suppose I will. Probably isn't going to work but I have my fingers crossed. The card will likely be going back if I can't get it to work in 7.
