I have this old Samsung 2233SW monitor, and it was unused for some time. Today I turned it on, and noticed this severe bleeding on the corners (mostly on the upper and lower left corners):

Which most definitely wasn't there before.
Is it supposed to get worse over time? Or maybe over long periods of inactivity?

This excessive bleed indicates a fault with the panel and needs to be repaired or replaced. It's getting worse over time due to heat expanding the surface layers. These layers will move closer to the light source, causing increased bleed levels. A poorly constructed panel is the primary cause.
