I have been plagued by random freezes for quite some time. I started with my software to try and diagnose problem. First disabled services one at a time. Then uninstalled all software besides os. Then removed hardware and drivers one at a time. I thought it was the mobo so i sent it out to msi. They sent it back with a "all fixed" letter. lol. Thought the issue was done. But it returned. I did a fresh install of OS. Was still there. Replaced psu. Tested memory for days on end. The only component not touched is the CPU. Do they go bad like this? It is totally random freezes. No BSOD. It just locks. I am at a total loss here and very frustrated. PLEASE HELP ME!!!LOL, But really I need some advice.

Yeah, you have to set everything back to default and see if the problem persists.

Freezes like that can simply be a bad or twisted up sata cable. They do recommend that you don't even have a 90 degree angle in your sata cable.Wouldn't that be an easy fix?Too bad it wasn't so simple.Freezes like that make me think the hard drive right off.Maybe try a different sata port too.

I have already locked it back up. I will try the sata cable next I guess. But nothing makes u think CPU? I am on the verge of buying a new one. BTW all Bios settings are back at default. Sorry I should have mentioned that. I also should mention that the only way to get it to guaranteeing it to lock is running prime95. Otherwise it is plain random.

Would RAM getting to warm cause this? I have no way to see the RAM temps. I can see all the other temps. But no ram. The test that does it in Prime95 is the torture test with lots of ram tested. I have lots of air flow though. I am just guessing now really though.
