is there any way to recover bad sectors? hard drive stopped working, and when i ran disk check, a whole load of bad sectors showed up. i cant even get access to it via windows because of the errors. there are some very important files on this disk, so can i get them back...at all!!??

i dont have a clue how this may have happend, tried to switch the pc on and it just kept re-booting.

Run chkdsk with the /r switch.

After that run a repair install -- Enter at first screen > F8 to accept > R to repair
