Basic cpu tips

Trying to get a SY-P4S Dragon Soyo motherboard to restart my burnd out system back up.
Q. If I use a 2.6 cpu with 512 cacheing on this type of board, is it overcloking it? if not what about a 2.8 w/ hypethreading or 3.0cpu?

Any tips to make it run lean and no mean?

Ahh... linkies please? No, whatever compatible processor you place into the motherboard... it will default so it runs at stock.

Do you mean it as in it will add features that it originally doesn't have? Sounds like cinderella to me. Would be cool though. *Gets drawn in his RPG imagination* yes good mobo with one more OC you will level up! YES!

That is a confusing statement.
If you are asking if you throw a 2.6Ghz processor into that motherboard that it overclocks it. The answer is no. Overclocking is something you manually do to make it run at a faster rate than it is specified for.
