Bought the whole 1942 and bf:vietnam anthology thing. Wanted to get a server going with a few people. My brothers and I play a bit so figured maybe I would set up a semi permanent server if there was enough interest in having one for us. My brothers and I can just plan it LAN, but our connection to the net is to crappy to run a dedi for us. So if there is enough interest in having a permanent server maybe I will pay for it.

There are a few servers with a good number of people on them. I was going to start my own though and have a few people interested.

I'd say skip the main game and go straight to Desert Combat. That's where the fun really starts, imo.

Server space is a little pricey. Let me shop around and ask my bros for some donations and maybe I can get a server up in the next few days. It seems like a pretty good idea as there is a decent amount of interest initially. So let me try and scrape some cash together and work on something.

I was gonna start off with BF42, and then move on to mods and expansions, then BFV as well. My brothers havent played any of them so I am starting at the beginning and going to the end with it. Just going to rent a server for each game if I can until we all get bored and want to move on lol.
