(BBC)Three Baftas for Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4 took three awards at the 2009 British Academy of Film and Television Arts video game ceremony.

The surprise winner of game of the year, the biggest award, was Super Mario Galaxy.

More surprising was the fact that best-selling title GTA IV went home without any awards - despite being nominated in seven separate categories.

Fifteen video Baftas were on offer, with TV presenters Jonathan Ross and Konnie Huq among those presenting.

Surprising? Well, GTA IV probably got nominated before anybody played it. That game was a hype-fest and a step backwards in the GTA series. (Well, except graphically, but tech demos don't win awards, unless it's the "Best Tech Demo" award.)

i dont rate gta IV, boring maps compared to vice city and san andreas and it was a way shorter game, plus a crapy port. not for me atall

There is no suprise to this. Just becasue a game sells the most doesn't mean it any good. I just picked up this game about a week ago for $15 at CC. I have to say that it is the worst game I have even played. Nothing about it can keep my interest.

When I saw the title I thought it was an update for CoD4 and that baftas stood for "bad-ass f***in' tanks and s**t".

It is too early for me to be on OCN...

Good, GTA IV is garbage. New games in a series should always be improved, and since it moved onto a more powerful console with huge capacity...shouldn't it also include more? WRONG! Rockstar took out everything they can, this is really just GTA 3 with better graphics and helicopters. I get so bored in GTA IV, still love san andreas. Not to mention rockstar went back to liberty city...are they so lazy they can't create another city?

CoD4 was a good game until I got sick of it.

Now it sucks.

GTAIV was a good game until I got sick of it on Xbox.

Now it sucks too.

So, CSS is the only good game in this world.
