Hi everyone,

I have tried to overclock many times over the last few months and keep failing. I look at different threads on here and try different setups that people say work for them.

I use Lavalys Ultimate Edition for my diagnostics etc. and if I look in the overclock section; and look at the information it says:

CPU Clock: 3.867.5 MHz (original 2833 MHz) ..... Overclock 37%
CPU Multiplier: x8.5

but then changes to

CPU Clock: 2.730 MHz (original 2833 MHz)
CPU Multiplier: x6

and stays like this for a longer time than the first lot of information stays on for, i.e. isn't overclocked properly

Basically can somebody help me overclock my CPU to 3.9GHz?

I can give more information just ask what specifically you want and I'll let you know.

Thanks
Aaron

Its called Intel Speed Step... it automatically downclocks ur processor when ur at idle usage.

You want to go into your BIOS and disable anything that says "Enhanced Halt State" or "C1E"

Check more guides for the basics, C1E, SpeedStep (EIST), Thermal throttling should be disabled for max OC.

If your machine is STABLE it doesn't hurt to leave them on, but ultimately if you're going for max clocks it may hinder you.
