Being good, gets boring?

So, I have a question to ask you all. Some may say, ****. Well no.

But do you ever get tired of being best of the best? Being good i mean.

Let me explain;

In MW2, me and my team of friends play everynight. Usually around 5-6 of us. When we play it just seems like we win every single game. To be honest, that crap gets old. HQ for example, its always 200-0 for us. Other team never gets a chance. Of course we are communicating that helps, but we also have experience from CAL from COD4. Every game just seems were always on top of the scoreboard. Then it leads too, its just not fun doing that over and over every game.... It's not fun anymore being good.

Anyone ever feel like this sometimes?

Sounds a lil *cough* bragalicious *cough* to me. But try changing your weapons. Or going against each other. Or having more people play with you.

OMG i feel ya man. In scavenge on L4D2 , me and my buddies cant be beat. Like getting anyone to stay for even 5 mins without rage quitting is impossible. gets quite annoying.
Move to a game that takes allot more skill and thought like ArmA2 and Men of War and you and your buch will get owned. Get away from the stupid children arcade games and play some real games

You're just looking for new challenges. The easiest way to go is to play your friends head on by scrambling the teams. The best way to go is to enter tournies and play other great premade teams. Unfortunately it's quite hard to find.

Well there was challenges in COD4, since there was CAL and CEVO. But CAL isn't doing MW2, neither is CEVO, and TWL is well TWL... already has a bad name.

I guess I just need a new challenge.

Only use pistols.

No perks.

If you need challenges, make your own.

Find a server with hackers and it will a a challenge.
The time I felt the same as you feel now was the time I called it quits and put down my FPS-gloves (used to do CEVO and CAL in CSS, and occasionally TF2). Now I'm playing Torchlight.

To be fair, CSS lasted me around 4 years. 4 years of entertainment from a $20 purchase. Not shabby.
I say this to all the kids stacking pubs in HON and DOTA, Grow a pair and either play against your friends or another clan of equal skill level so that the game is balanced and actually entertaining. Playing with a pile of friends against a pub of strangers is mighty pathetic.
Being good is relative. You need to find yourself some better opponents.
find better players, like clans etc, and scrim
Once you rank up a bit, a premade in League of Legends gets matched against other premades that might give you a run for your money.

Fun game. It's like DOTA, except with about 90% fewer a-holes.
Stop playing pubs. And scrim some teams.
I used to be like that on crysis, then I came back to it a year later and sucked nuts.
same thing happened to me and people i played with in rainbow six vegas 1/2 we ended up using pistols then we moved too blind firing with snipers.
you basically just have to find a new way to make yourself suck, that or there's always the option of moving too a different game for a month too make yourself a bit rusty.
This is actually one of the situations that a dedicated server would help out with.

You find a server where better players tend to play, and then you can easily (at a whim) swap teams around to play against each other for challenges, etc.

Meh.
I'm actually like that on left 4 dead 1 and 2 also. I've started using pistols or melee weapons almost entirely, and I play realism, which is hard as heck. I still haven't finished a realism campaign because after playing one for like 8 hours, my teammates always bail right near the finale.
Yeah I feel like this in CS:S all the time.. I constantly get banned from servers so now all I do is play with a M249. Funny thing is I STILL get banned even while using the M249 just because I am so good with that gun too.
