I think AMD cards generally have higher overhead. There are small gains to be had with some extra memory bandwidth.

4790K @ 4.7/4.0 GHz Core/Cache
2 x R9 290 @ 1100/6400 MHz

1600 MHz @ 9-9-9-24-1T (XMP)

2400 MHz @ 11-13-13-31-2T (XMP)

2666 MHz @ 11-14-14-14-1T (2400 MHz XMP secondary and tertiary timings)

I did some experimenting with 2800 MHz on the same 2400 MHz rated kit but I was losing too much performance:

2800 MHz @ 12-15-14-24-1T (2400 MHz XMP secondary and tertiary timings)

Have you tried various CF profiles? I usually am tinkering around in tri/quadfire but not sure if 2x gpu would benefit as much.

Afraid not. This is the system that they are in. Won't be able to expand it:

Maybe give 1x1 or AFR Compatible a run see if your scores change. add exe for the profile in the crimson ui under gaming. If i recall using the browser_x86.exe in 16.3 seemed to work over the valley.exe for me
