ASUS have put in a lot of effort in the P7P55 WS supercomputer and the end result is a good all-round motherboard with full funtuality, in my testing the motherboard was a little bit harder than the others I have tested to get the most from in regards high overclocks with stability being an issue which I think had something to do with the NF200 Chip, but nevertheless the end results were still as impressive as ever even if it did take a little longer to find the right settings.

I havent read the article yet...but they call it "Supercomputer" with only 4 ram slots?

EDIT:
"Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs. Some hyper DIMMs only support one DIMM per channel."

Whats this?

There is a whole series of Supercomputer boards.

Supercomputer meaning GPGPU/CUDA support. X58 chips have three channels, P55 have two. There can be more than one slot per channel. "Hyper" is a kind of RAM IC, often supporting 2000MHz+ mem. clocks, which is far more feasible (with a cpu OC especially) on P55 than x58; this is due to the QPI (or DMI for P55), imo.

It is P55...

The heatsinks look tiny compared to other P55 boards. I wonder how cool this board runs.

What makes it a "Workstation" board anyway? ...The features read like any other gaming/enthusiast board.

Higher quality components, built for stability and reliability.

I sometimes think my writing reminds me of an "English as a Second Language" person, but I assume you mean the techno-jargon? Or is it my total lack of proper sentence structure?

I am also severely slurring right now, but I thought you couldn't hear that.

Nice board. Too bad it won't replace my P6T6, but it's good for P55 users though. Asus has always been hit-or-miss for users. Mine works fine though and I can OC my i7 to 4.0GHz easily.
I don't really see the point in putting an NF200 on P55. Won't the latencies make it slower than X58? And won't the NF200 make it more expensive?

It is what is allowing it to have more PCIe x16 lanes.

Normal P55 has 1 x16 or 2 x8.

Probably a wash, considering the reduced latency of 1156/i5's on-die pcie controller.

FINALLY, NO MORE IDE SLOTS! I hate those things!
This isnt better than the P6T6 so why is it branded with the Supercomputer name ?

I realize that... but the NF200 chip comes with a price premium. It also adds latency to the board. Wouldn't an X58 board (with 40 PCI-E lanes) be cheaper and faster once you consider the price bump from the NF200?

I'd consider buying one if it didn't use a foxconn socket. Anyone know if that issue is still happening with the 1156 foxconn sockets?
