Hey guys I would be interested to see your opinions on what drivers have given you the best overall system performance while folding with an Nvidia card. I DID have the latest Nvidia cards and I noticed whilwe folding my system would lag really bad.
I have since switched to the 182.50 Drivers as they give me much better system performance with much reduced system lag. Im sure many of you have experienced thing but it would be cool to see what drivers you are using and if you are getting good overall system performance while folding.
I have been using all the updates Nvidia releases since 178.13, and have yet to see any difference at all between them. Currently I am using the 190.38 drivers. They work as well as any of the others.
185.85s with 3x 9600GTs and now 3x 8800GTS. No problems no lag.
186.18s with 2x GTX 260 and vmware running. No problems no lag.
I have run benches on all the drivers since the 182's and have seen negligible differences in PPD.
Im glad to hear there is little difference in PPD between them. That was something I was a little concerned about.

Yeah some people do not have an issue with the 190.38 drivers and some do. I have to admit I have not tried them yet as I am hesitant to try them out as I then have to keep swapping drivers around. It took me a while to find drivers that performed well in the first place haha. If enough people say the 190.38 drivers are ok I may give them a go.

I say stay with the drivers you have now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
good to know, those 8500 and 9500's really do clock to hell and back, pretty crazy that they didnt bring out a higher spec one. think my oc 8500 is only 675mhz or something like that but goes alot higher
Does anyone know if there is a benchmark that benches shaders? (something like furmark?). I could benchmark a bunch of the drivers for shader performance, and run a wu through each one (something slow like a 1888 maybe). The we could know for sure which driver is best, or if they are all similar.
