Best fan(s) to upgrade the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283

I am around 22C ambiant temps and on my e8600 @ 4.1ghz (1.36v) I am seeing a Idle of 38c max of 61C while running OCCT 3.0 for 10 mins.

I am using the fan that came with the cooler, and still using the push pins. Mostly becasue I was lazy and didnt want to take the MB out again to put the backing plate in. AS5 for TIM. I know, I have a little improving here... thats tonights project. Lapping as well.

I would like to change the fan to two 120mm high cfm units. in push/pull. Noise is not an issue. I also have a NZXT sentry fan controller that I can max the fans RPMS on.

So what are the best fans I can throw on this?

Noise not an issue? Get one of those Delta 220CFM fans.

Otherwise, http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa12ulhisp.html OR a Scythe Ultra Kaze.

I just ordered 3 Ultra Kaze's. $30 for three when that crazy delta one is $30 for ONE!

I guess the stock Xigmatek only flows 51cfm, so this will be a big step up.

I willl try just one in push on the cooler and log temps, then try push pull... then push pull and the 3rd on the back of the case as well. Ill post up my findings next week when they come in.

I'll never understand why people like their PC to sound like a wind tunnel for a marginal temperature drop... But to each, their own.
LOL kinda off topic... but all of a sudden everest just showed my CPU temp as 103c, but both cores are at 42C!??? whats up with that?

The thing is I dont have to crank these fans to the max, I can turn them down with the FC for normal use. And start a windstorm when I OC and benchmark. Not to mention the lianli case is alot quieter than some of the other cases I have had in the past.

And with the marginal temp drop... we will soon see.

Sometimes it's not minimal. If I were to drop my Tri Cools down to medium speed, my temps would go up 5-6C. Which is much more than "marginal".

The temperature difference between low and high for me is 3c. The sound difference, though, is massive.

Well you have a louder case than I, too

Panaflos are good! I myself just bought 2 Delta WBH1212H's for Push-Pull. I will let you know how it goes!

I meant the case in general...an Antec 900 is obviously going to be louder than a P180 w/ the same fans.
