Best FPS or other game for my set up?

1095 Views 28 Replies 18 Participants Last post by  InsideTheCinema
I've been out of the PC gaming scene for over 2 years. I just built my new rig (see sig). What are the best games to play for the ultimate gaming experience? I like FPS, flight sims, and survival horror.

Thanks guys! (and gals
)

go with the hype i suppose. seems to be alot of interest in Borderlands, L4D2, CoDMW2. and there is always the originals such as CS:S and DoDS, Crysis of course with your setup if your into that game.... go experiment.

u can always go to a gamer location where u pay like 10 bux for an hour to play all the games they have.
MW2, CS:S, Left 4 Dead 2, Far Cry 2, Crysis? GTAIV? Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill: Homecoming

I have RE5 on PS3, it's great. I lost interest in the Silent Hill games. I will check out Crysis, that looks good, thanks

Is there a 64bit version of Crysis?
only gaming for 2 years?
you must of have missed Half-life 2 then

HL2 + EP1 + EP2 = God-like series
honestly, the greatest FPS you will ever play.

Crysis has full 64bit support. From a visual and technical standpoint Crysis is the most advanced game on the market, and it's 2 years old. It's also a lot of fun to play

2 years old and still the most advanced? No wonder why I can't find it at any Ebgames store in my area. I purchased a copy from ebay for $15, can't beat that!

TF2, because it's the best FPS for any set up.
Steam is full of great games you should take a look at (or at least play the demo); TF2, L4D/2, Killing Floor, Day of Defeat:Source, HL2, Portal - the list goes on! Take a look at the Orange Box, great deal.

Also, Far Cry 2 & Crysis both look amazing but the story and game play in FC2 is a bit lacking for my liking.

Look at some game reviews of the aforementioned titles to get an idea. Like Jaggar mentioned, you could go to a LAN Cafe and play a bunch of different games (they charge you by the hour). Only problem is their rig has got nothing on yours and it gets a bit frustrating with the graphics/load times

If you have not seen Oblivion or Fallout 3, I'd recommend both. They are beautiful, and need a rig like yours to max everything and still have perfect framerates.

Yeah steam is the way to go. I also strongly recommend the Orange Box, available on steam for cheap, if you have never tried half-life. Pretty much the best game of all time, it's two expansions, the best online multiplayer game around (TF2) and the amazing portal. It's 29.99 on steam.

That and Crysis will take you A LONG LONG ways.

After that check out - Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Dead Space, Crysis Warhead (amazing Expansion pack!), Counter Strike Source, STALKER SoC, Borderlands, the upcomming Alien vs Preditor, and the incredible Bioshock.

Welcome to pc gaming, we all hope you enjoy your stay.
