Best Gaming card/speakers

289 1
Hey guys, planning a high end rig for this summer. My total budget for sound gear is around 700 bucks. What would be a good soundcard/speaker combo.

I was thinking about the prelude and z5500s

How does the prelude compare to the ASUS Xonar Essence for gaming?

Anyway, my priorities are 1:Gaming 2: Music 3 Movies, but gaming is by far the most important.

For gaming you won't notice too much difference, however the Essence does have a pretty good DAC, and good analogue support for headphones.

If you're going for games I would probably go with the Creative X-Fi Titanium so you get native EAX support.
