I was just taking a look at the 66gt's and they are 128bit interface Vs a 98pro with a 256bit interface but they do have new gddr3 mem and sm3 support.

I would need to see some benchies between these two cards.

I can't believe a 98pro...modded to 98xt doesn't beat a 66gt. for $200

6600GT does out perform the 9800XT. Not only that, 9800XTs are still going for $300+ and you can barely find 9800Pros these days.

yup, the 6600gt is alot faster then a 9800xt, and has all the new bells and whistles....for the same price, its not even worth getting the 9800 anymore....

6600GT is good, but it does feel the strain when you push the graphics

The only thing wrong with a 6600 GT is it slows down a ton at really high res (like 1600 x 1200) because it only has 128 mb. I play all my games at 12xx x 1xxx and they all play perfectly CS:S, WoW, HL2, Doom 3 ect.. I will upgrade when the new 7xxx series gforce comes out probably and sell my poor friend my current card for dirt cheap (he is running a x300 atm.. poor, poor guy).

Only 9800s that were actually in stock at Newegg were SEs and EZs lacking either pipes or memory bus width

I have the MSI 6600 GT (PCIE version) and I love it, I won't play any of the games that come with it, other then pop maybe.. but the card seems really well made and stays pretty cool.

Now what about the new ATI chipset thats expected to come out some time this year? I'm not sure what to do now... Should I wait for these new gpu's to come out and buy one, OR should I buy a 6800GT when it gets cheaper, OR should I get the 6800 that costs a little more than the 6600GT's ORRR just get the 6600GT??? Haha! In the end I know that it'll all be up to me but what do u guyz suggest???
