Seagate Ironwolf Pro´s are just as good and actually better in some areas

Seagate offers more vaules you can monitor than WD does so its easier to catch a dying Seagate than a WD drive

When I picked it was between Ironwolf Pros and Exos drives.

From what I could find, both are identical but the Exos are better built yet also cost less? I checked the mtbf and everything at the time and some things were better on the Exos while still being lower priced, but I'm not sure if thats the same now.

IMO the difference in pricing was simply because ironwolfs are gamer brand, while exos are office / enterprise brand, and as such were even cheaper still when bought from an office supply store.

I just tried checking again, only difference seems to be that all exos drives are helium filled, while only some ironwolf pros are.

Regarding pricing, 16 Tb Ironwolf Pro £350, 18 Tb Exos £299.

Gamer brand vs Office brand is all I see going on there.

It has nothing to do with branding the drives are in some cases the same inside with only a difference in firmware

The reason for the lower price of the Exos is enterprises buy in bulk which makes the cost per drive go down

A private person will never buy 100 or more drives at once so thats why the Ironwolf cost more nothing to do with brading

I stopped buying Ironwolf Pro´s myself early this year once i realized the only reason to buy an Ironwolf Pro is for the 3 years of free data recovery service and you dont get that with the Exos which is another reason why the Exos is cheaper
