Hey guys! Wasn't sure where to ask this so I decided to make a new thread. So as the topic says, what was the maximum OC you could get on this card?

Core: 950
Memory: 1150
Voltage: 1.150 (Stock)
Temperature: 79° (Full load)
Fan speed: 51% (Full load)

is what I managed to achieve on my ASUS EAH6850 with stock voltage. I am sure this is not the limit. I just like the round numbers

By the way, is 79° acceptable temp or should I bother trying to cool it with extra fans or increse the GPU fan speed?

I'm running my Sapphire HD6850 at 950/1220 on stock voltage. 79c is perfectly fine, mine tops 85c at furmark with the fan spinning ~1600rpm. I think comparing RPMs and especially percents is pointless though, because the fans and the percent/RPM-ratio vary a lot. In my case, the fan @ 1600rpm makes roughly as much noise as a Gentle Typhoon at 1200rpm.

Welcome to the forums!
First off, you are usually unlikely to get a reply when you post on an old thread like this, but no worries

Maximum overclocks will be different for every card, it is just luck of the draw how far you are able to overclock your card. That being said the HD 6850 usually has a massive amount of overclocking headroom, I have one that will do 935/1150 on stock voltages, and I'd say most should get to 900mhz quite easily.

As far as the process, check out the AMD GPU Overclock Guide here (I reccomend running a few passes of 3DMark 06 to stress test as well as GPUTool, as GPUTool isn't too great at finding stability on cards past the HD4k series). If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

Hmmm... I already did everything from this thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/633816/how-to-overclock-your-amd-ati-gpu
But, I got a problem... System is stable on: Core 975 / Memory 1130, under GPU Stress, Furmark and MSI Kombustor... Also I played COD Modern Warfare 3, no problems...
But, when I restart my computer, vga stats fall to: 600/1000...
I checked "apply overclocing on system startup, start with windows and start minimized", but it just doesn't...
What to do??

Do they go up when in-game? You can check with GPU-z. It could just be powerplay (a power saving feature).
