I don't thing you can get 2 4870 1GB for 400$. If you wait a bit 4850X2 will be for that price.

Yeah, I don't know where the 4870 1gb can be had for $200. I vote for 4850 crossfire! Or, wait and buy the 4850x2 when it comes out.

uhh well lets see, theres a LOL after that so. yeah, its a joke.

everyone else

sli/cf doesnt matter, that will drive my board selection whichever you all think would have the best performance. rather it be one card(which ive heard is the best cost/performance) two, three, etc.

2x4850's or 2 used 4870's if you can find em for sub 200$. if you must go nVidia get 2x8800GTX's they can be had for sub 200$ easily.like others say the 4850x2 will be out soon i would wait for that to drop and get it while it is hot, will be a bit more gracious to you're cases space and you're PSU.

and at 16x10 it would not be worth the extra ~50$ each due to it not utilizing the full 1GB, i only recommend 1GB cards if you are going 24"+ because the texture files will not use even 600mb at sub 19x12 level's

Those should hold you over in CF for a while, they also have some of the BEST Air cooling due to the really simple IceQ 4 cooler
