It really depends if you want a 2.1 setup or 5.1 setup. For $100, I would rather go with a quality 2.1, but maybe you really want surround for your setup. In case you're wondering, I'm still using a 2.1 setup from Logitech. I'm thinking of an upgrade, too.

There isn't much you can do with $100 for audio. I'd recommend you get this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=300-650

They seem crappy but trust me, that's the best deal for under $100.

If you really want a sub, then get Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. You might be able to find a used or even new set for under $100.
If you want 5.1(which I don't recommend), get the X-530/540.

Go used.

Right now I am listening to a 2.1 setup that cost me no more than $100.

The mains are Boston Acoustics CR9, great sounding speakers, $29.99 in great shape from Goodwill, the receiver is an Harmon/kardon AVR125 that I got for free from someone moving, and the sub is a CSW BassCube 10 that I bought as part of a larger package off of ebay.

You can get SOOOO much more for your money by buying used. Audio equipment depreciates as soon as you open that box and you are denying yourself a highend experience by buying these PC speakers.
