Best Tablet Laptop <$1500?

Hey there OCNers!

My girlfriend is looking for a tablet laptop for college, and unfortunately I'm not too familiar with this niche.

Requirements:
-Lightweight and Portable (<5 lbs, <15" screen)
-Bigger than netbook size (>11")
-Long battery life (>5 hours on standard battery)
-Asthetics (Looks great, not bulky, boxy, blocky, or business-drab, no big
battery jutting out)
-Reliable
-Good cost (<$1500)

As for hardware requirements, a Core 2 Duo with 4GB DDR2 RAM should be enough; dedicated video not required and would actually prefer integrated.

For the battery, we'd prefer to keep it the standard battery and still have more than 5 hours of life, as any bigger battery will most likely jut out and look unattractive.

Also, the price limit is not the price she wants to pay, but the maximum she's willing to pay. Cost effectiveness is definitely important here, and we will take a lower-priced machine if it meets the requirements and offers amazing "bang for buck".

Thanks in advance for your help!

Requirements:
-Lightweight and Portable (<5 lbs, <15" screen) Check
-Bigger than netbook size (>11") Check
-Long battery life (>5 hours on standard battery) I get 4 hours on standard, but the upgrade battery is like $40 I think
-Asthetics (Looks great, not bulky, boxy, blocky, or business-drab, no big
battery jutting out) Battery juts out a little but not bad at all
-Reliable so far so good for me. I have dropped it a few times and everything works
-Good cost (<$1500) Cost was one of the biggest factors for me when I bought this

Dont know how you feel about amd but this is just my suggestion.

try and find my tablet I payd $500 for it. Look at specs not bad for a $500 dollar tablet. Also look for active digitizers for tablets so much better then pressure screens. I will help you look for my tablet. Gateway c-140x. I see that she is using it for school, I use mine for high school all my teachers are like uhm? What the heck is that thing never seen it before but that is college she is doing. I would also recommend getting a Microsoft Office Onenote 2007 Very good program. If you shoot me a PM I will help you further with this. I love my tablet

I use OneNote 2003 myself for almost all my classes, and I absolutely love it. I love almost everything about it, but the thing I have to rave about the most is the automatic save feature. Now I don't have to worry about losing notes because I forgot to Ctrl+S!

Get a 2710p, got one earlier in the year for myself and loved it!

It's the older model of the 2730p, but they didn't make too many changes, and the 2710p costs alot less! 5 hours of battery easily. If you get the battery slice (very thin battery that fits under the entire laptop), you'll double the battery life and get 10-11 hours.

Only reason I sold mine was because I got too distracted in class

Well, thanks for the suggestions so far! There's some pretty great ones here; I'll have to research + price hunt some more, but keep the suggestions coming!
