I want to get 2 Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWM fans for my radiator and 3 NF-A14 iPPC-3000 PWMs for my case. I'd rather go with some kind of splitter because I'm trying to do away with all the stuff in my 5.25" bays. The Fans will be going in a Define R5 if that matters.

How So? Aren't the Noctua's supposed to be more quiet than most other fans? I know they are 3000 RPM but that's why I'm concerned about being able to control them properly because they wont be running full RPM the whole time, I just want to be able to crank it on really hot days. Airflow is more important than acoustics to me anyways. I read in the manual that they come with a splitter, would they do the job for only 5 fans?

They spec at 41dBA but that is open air noise level. Mounted on cooler or grill / filter combinations the noise will be about 60dBA .. for a single fan. 6x fans will be about 70dB .. and that is loud.

As for power and control, check out the link in my sig about PWM control of case fans.
