that's a "good" mobo based on the reviews. There are some few OCN members that have that mobo. Also, that's the best deal I seen for that mobo with free shipping + rebate.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree if you're going to run at stock clocks. I think you'd be better off buying an i5 or Phenom 2 and saving the extra money that an i7 would cost. The stock clocks on a AMD 965 are 3.4 ghz and would fare very well against the 2.66 ghz i7 and save you some dough. Just a thought...

Ya, obviously I'd rather have the $250+ boards, but right now I think they are way over priced.
Not OC a Core i7 920? That's HERESY!

It's a couple bucks more, but consider the Gigabyte EX58-UD3R.
This motherboard is perfect if you don't plan to OC, trust me, I own it. No problems w/ it at all.

I will do some basic OC, but I really wanna just update my sig rig, and the i7 just seems pretty sexy
I mean the i7 can get oc'd up pretty easy correct?

On air cooling you can get a solid 3.6 to 4 GHz depending on the chip, and it'll probably take maybe 10 minutes in the BIOS.

and that asrock board will be just fine? 3.6 is fine for me

i am at 3.6 (3.78) and i can't pass IBT @ maximum (over 4gigs) :/ I am gonna run memtest and prime95 small fft for a few hours to see if it passes that.

Games are fine tho and windows hasnt BSOD'ed on me
